Reviewers frequently highlight the generous portions and well-balanced flavors, especially in traditional pasta dishes and local specialties such as cured meats and cotoletta. The attentive and knowledgeable staff consistently receive positive mentions for enhancing the dining experience with excellent service and thoughtful wine pairings. While most guests appreciate the rich and hearty offerings, some find certain dishes, like the cotoletta, a bit heavy. Overall, the trattoria is recommended for its combination of quality food, inviting atmosphere, and genuine Italian hospitality.
Such a Great restaurant! We were strolling around and had found trattoria da me and it looked interesting so we popped in and they couldn't fit us in but told us about their other restaurant.... They made us reservations for that same night but a half hour later. When we arrived we were served by Francesco and his service was excellent. He helped with wine and food choices. He was great with the kids and we were impressed with the entire meal. We had the Tagliere paired with the cheese ice creams ( sounds strange but it wasn't ). They paired very well together ! For the entree we had the Tagliatelle al ragù, Lasagna and the agnolotti were all out of this world. Highly recommend checking this place out.
This was the best dinner we had in Bologna - every dish was a perfect balance of flavor and quality. We enjoyed it immensely. The melon sorbet exceeded all our expectations. Highly recommended. Special mention goes to the service: our waitress was incredibly attentive and pleasant.
I stumbled upon this trattoria while walking by and decided to book a table just from the atmosphere I saw outside, especially in the evening, right under the tower that hosts it. I’m glad I did, because both the food and the ambiance were great on a beautiful summer night. We tried the mixed cured meats platter, the ragù, and the cotoletta and everything was very tasty. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the prices were reasonable. The interior is also nice and atmospheric, but we chose to sit outside, which I definitely recommend. Perfect spot for a lovely evening with good food and a glass of wine. Highly recommended!
This was one of the recommended spots we tried out, overall a very pleasant experience. Our favourite dish was the tagliatelle with onions, we loved the acidic sauce that was paired with the creamy cheese creating a balanced flavour. We were excited to finally try the Bolognese cotoletta, however we found it a bit too heavy for our liking. The portions were very generous, especially the cotoletta, so be mindful when ordering!
Typical Bologna specialities in a beautiful historic setting. The ancient tower, renovated in careful detail, is a delightful location for enjoying the wonderful cuisine. We loved the antipasto of local hams and the ice cream soft cheeses were a modern twist on Italian classics. The pasta dishes were all excellent, big portions of lasagne, tagliatelle and tortellini, all made faithfully to the traditional recipes. The cotoletta is a big portion, so come with an appetite if you order this . Staff were friendly and fun, it has a light hearted and young spirit. A bustling trattoria that is worth coming back to. Buon appetito!
Recommended by a local. The trattoria is tucked within a small courtyard, built inside what I can only describe as a watch tower, which is a beautiful setting. A blend of old and new. We did make a reservation, and were seated quickly. Something I never would have ordered would be “cheese ice cream” with additional fried bread puffs (servers recommendation) but I tell you what it was quite delicious. We opted for a glass of the house white, crisp and refreshing. Mains were the classic ragu and the crumbed veal. The pasta was delicate and the veal was so tender. Would recommend to a friend.
We booked in advance for a special occasion and requested a nice table, but ended up with a small one. While several waiters helped us, one was noticeably unfriendly, not one smile, aggressively clearing plates without asking if we are done for several times. However, the other waiter was very considerate; he prepared our sharing dishes into two plates. The food was excellent. The three cheese ice cream starter with caramelized figs was delightful and pleasant. For pasta we decided to try From the Broth into the Brodetto and were impressed with the flavor, truly memorable. We wished we had more room to try more pasta dishes.
